"Patmos could well be the ideal Greek island destination.” — Lonely Planet

June 17-27th, 2019 • Isle of Patmos, Greece

Does winter’s chill stir thoughts of summer? Are you ready to spend time basking in the sun on a far-off Greek isle? Perhaps you’re one of the many eager for a return trip!

We are very pleased to invite kindred spirits to come join us this June for a special GoodWorld Journeys SoulBreak Salon on the beautiful Greek isle of Patmos!

Thirty years ago this coming summer, in 1989, we launched our first Greek island voyage, inviting friends far & wide to come experience the lovely landscape and ethereal magic of this island two years after spending our honeymoon here.

Since then, a far-flung circle of good souls have made these memorable trips with us. For most of those years, before launching GoodWorld Journeys, we simply invited friends and colleagues to slow down their life for ten days & take a restful “soulbreak” on this beautiful Greek isle that has become the North Star of our lives.

This summer, as we celebrate our 30th Anniversary of gathering good folks from around the world here on Patmos, we will once again bring people together in a fun, rejuvenating & restful way!

We’ve reserved our favorite scenic hotel here on Patmos, a beautiful, rustic Greek island in the Aegean Sea. As always, we’re inviting a fun & interesting group of friends from many places, ages and interests to rest and play — on your own or in small groups. Feel free to invite other friends and/or family to come join you. This trip is primarily as you like it — you can seek your own bliss in the sea, mix with folks hanging out at the hotel … & join in on some of the enriching conversations that will be hosted.

“A place of wonders both natural and divine, the Greek island of Patmos has drawn solace seekers for nearly 2,000 years — without ever losing its cool.” New York Times

Our time together will not be led by master artists & renowned teachers, as with our regular GoodWorld Journeys Salons. Instead, our "SoulBreak" Salon will be even more laid back with relaxing, low-key social time, stirred and shaken by those who choose to gather, with a sprinkling of Salon conversations led and/or facilitated by the two of us & sparked spontaneously by those who choose to come & show up.

One of the best parts of all our Gatherings and Salons over these 30 years has been the amazing rich mix of people who make the journey, the deep human connections created on the isle, the wisdom exchanged between good souls on their life’s path and the many lifelong friendships forged.

During our time together, we will host and facilitate a few creative morning and early evening Salon conversations, including one on the theme of Living A Creative Life. As always with our gatherings, you can expect a diverse mix of folks from the worlds of the arts, writing, poetry, music, social change, political activism, social entrepreneurship, philanthropy, nonprofits, the healing arts & spirituality, among others.

There will be ample time to wander and explore the radiant landscape of Patmos, a truly thin place in this world that speaks to our higher selves and has served to restore and renew the soul ever since ancient times.

We think of this Special 30 Year Anniversary gathering as our Magical Mystery Tour. A time for you
to take a real SoulBreak in your life, a journey to meet amazing new friends, a place to let go of all that
is certain, where unknown expectations are rewarded, and where, like Odysseus, you return home enriched by savoring the hero’s journey to your own Ithaka.

We want to highlight that spaces will be limited for this special 30 Year Anniversary SoulBreak Salon and that all hotel room reservations will be granted on a first come, first served basis. We therefore recommend making a deposit payment as soon as possible to secure your spot.

So, if you’ve joined us on Patmos before and have been longing to return, or have always had Greece on your bucket list and want to explore this epic isle, now is the time to jump in & come join us!

Looking forward to greeting each one of you off the boat in June for this very special gathering!

Jenny Yancey & Dan Siegel have been designing and leading purpose-driven gatherings, conversation retreats and global travel adventures for over 30 years.

Jenny experienced the transformative power of travel across cultures early on, living in Scotland as a child and journeying solo to study on a Greek isle at age 15. During college, she worked on human rights issues in Taiwan & China, and later directed a national coalition of organizations seeking peace in Central America, based in Washington, D.C. — where she met Dan in 1985.

Dan led his first international journey (to Cuba) with ten college students from UC Santa Cruz in 1984. After college, he was a researcher and author on global affairs at the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington DC, where he designed & moderated evening lecture & conversation classes with noted authors, journalists and public scholars.

Jenny & Dan organized their first group journey to the Greek isle of Patmos in 1989, having honeymooned on the island two years earlier. Alongside working to advance social change, youth leadership, family philanthropy and civil society in the U.S. and other countries, they experienced the importance of making intentional time in sacred places to gain perspective, recharge, and renew.

Through GoodWorld Journeys, Jenny & Dan seek to help others to slow down, reflect and intentionally live more creative lives that feed & sustain the soul while fostering a deeper connectedness with our one truly global tribe.
